LESSON PLAN -II { Manipulative }

Objective:

  • After a Lecture / Presentation / Demonstration and Instructions,
  • The student will display competency & mastery of the selected Task.
  • The operation shall meet recognized acceptable Codes / Standards for Safety - Quality - Productivity

Prerequisite:

  • The student must have completed the orientation lessons for the welding program.
  • The student must have earned the safety certificates - Personal Safety & Shop Safety.
  • The student must have Welding Process and Equipment Safety Certificates.

Provided With:

  • An approved Welder Training Facility.
  • A competent Welding Instructor.
  • A procedure sheet.
  • Necessary equipment tools materials and supplies.
  • Instructions and demonstration of the task.
  • An opportunity to participate in the demonstration.

The Student Shall:

  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Select a task / fill out procedure sheet
  • Setup and practice the task to develop mastery.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Produce and present acceptable, repetitive results.

Evaluation:

  • Examine / test and submit to the instructor, satisfactory welds.
  • Inspector and instructor's acceptance of test plates.

Learning Activity:

  • Safety check - attire and personal equipment.
  • Safety check work area and welding equipment.
  • Accumulate materials, supplies and tools.
  • Review MSDS and manufactures recommendations for the process.
  • Setup equipment and welding process.
  • Prepare test plates to procedure specifications
  • Setup project / test plates.
  • Review process variables.
  • Practice exercise until acceptable results can be obtained.
  • Examine test plate results.
  • Properly shutdown equipment.
  • Return unused materials and supplies.
  • Clean and secure your work station.
  • Complete procedure sheet.
  • Complete evaluation sheet.
  • Have the teacher validate your results for credit.
